This policy explains how StrathWorks Ltd ("StrathWorks", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data through this website. Individual StrathWorks products have their own privacy notices where their data use differs.

Data We Collect

  • Contact and project intake information you submit through our forms.
  • Operational logs for availability, security, and abuse prevention, including the requested page, time, IP address, browser information, and referring page where supplied.
  • Service-specific data where required by a StrathWorks product (covered by product-specific notices).

Our Virtualmin hosting system uses AWStats to summarise these server logs locally. This provides aggregate website statistics without adding a browser tracker or creating a cross-site visitor profile.

Retention

  • Website project enquiries: up to 24 months.
  • Security logs: up to 90 days, unless needed longer for incident handling.
  • Contract or project records: retained according to legal and accounting obligations.

Cookies and Local Storage

The website stores one essential preference cookie, strathworks_analytics_consent, for up to six months so it can remember whether you accepted or declined analytics.

If you accept analytics, Matomo sets first-party cookies used to distinguish visits and understand how the website is used. Matomo does not load and no analytics request is sent until you accept. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Analytics choices in the footer.

Website Analytics

With your consent, we use a self-hosted Matomo service at analytics.strathworks.com. It records page views, referring pages, browser and device information, approximate location, outbound-link activity, and whether the contact form was started, succeeded, or returned an error. Form contents, names, email addresses, and organisation names are not sent to Matomo.

Matomo is hosted by StrathWorks on infrastructure separate from this website. IP masking is enabled, browser Do Not Track settings are respected, secure cookies are used, and analytics data is not shared with advertising networks.

Third-Party Services

We use Microsoft Graph to deliver contact-form submissions to our Microsoft 365 mailbox. Microsoft may receive technical information needed to handle that request. With consent, the browser connects to our self-hosted Matomo service as described above. The website uses fonts already available on the visitor's device and does not contact a third-party font service.

Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection regarding your personal data, and where applicable request portability. Email data@strathworks.com.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.
